Flat-Topped Tall Hats - Source Images

Men:

Although flat-topped hats are not as common as round-topped hats in the 16th and 17th century portraits and woodcuts that I have collected, there are still quite a number of different flat-topped, small-brimmed styles represented for both men and women.

Ladies in Flat-Topped Tall Hats

Ladies wore them too, over a coif, caul, or wired cap. I have yet to see an image that shows a lady wearing a hat directly on her hair.
